Black screen on startup, no advanced options screen

My pc crashed while gaming, since then when restarting it says "preparing automatic repair" then goes to a black screen with my mouse curser but never does anything else. I have tried holding power down 3 times to get it to the windows recovery environment, but it does the same thing (black screen with mouse). I have also tried using a bootable win 10 usb, it shows the windows splash screen then goes to a blue screen with a mouse but never does anything else. If i could somehow get to the advanced options screen i would do a full system reset but i cant access that screen no matter what i try.

    Hi SKWIRRL,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A.
Try reboot --> keep pressing F8 to see if you can get into Advanced Boot Options , please try this 2-3 times , and as soon as you turn it on, start pushing the button.

Once you can get into the Advanced Boot Options, use following commands to close auto repair.
Choose Repair Your Computer to boot into WinRE --> open Command Prompt

First use diskpart to find your OSdisk (dir to see which disk has windows folder), then switch to that partition and then run the command
    Bcdedit /set {default} advancedoptions on
    Bcdedit /set {default} recoveryenabled No

After auto-repair mode is disabled, you can see what errors are reported when normal mode starts and you can stay at Advanced Options when you boot the machine.

    Best regards,
    Molly

Download the Windows 10 ISO and create a Media Creation tool and then perform Repair install:

    Visit the following link:

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Insert the Windows 10 installation DVD in the DVD ROM and restart your computer.

After you boot your computer using Windows DVD or System Repair Disc, a black screen appears with gray text “Press any key to boot from DVD“. Press any key.
Select the correct time and Keyboard type.
Click Repair your computer in the lower left corner.
Once the repair installation is over, make sure to update the system via Windows update. You may also update graphic card driver from the support site of your laptop manufacturer or graphic card manufacturer.
