I keep getting a pop up saying I need to activate windows, now I also have the same thing in the bottom right corner as a watermark. I reinstalled windows on my computer a month ago. It's been happening since then.

Under settings/activation I get the error code: 0x8007232B

Can anyone help me solve this problem and activate windows?

Hi,

According to the error code, that means the KMS client cannot find KMS server resource records (SRV RRs) in DNS.
If you’re using a laptop and don’t know your product key, since you got the winodws pre-activated in it, you’ll need to run following command in a separate “command prompt” window and do open “command prompt” with administrator access.

powershell "(Get-WmiObject -query ‘select * from SoftwareLicensingService’).OA3xOriginalProductKey"

Press enter, and output would be your Windows activation product key.

While being at Desktop, press windows key + R.
A “Run” windows should open and write down following command:
Slui 3
ress enter and wait for a window to appear.
That window should ask you for entering your operating system activation product key.
Enter the product key you’ve got.
After entering product key, Click “Activate” button.

Hi,

I ran the command prompt as administrator, pasted the command, and pressed enter. Nothing happened. I believe it's not outputting the product key, because windows hasn't been able to activate, therefore is not currently running off a product key.

Here's a screenshot of the command prompt, if you see an error in my input, let me know.

Run it without the quotes

(Get-WmiObject -query `select * from SoftwareLicensingService').OA3xOriginalProductKey

Here's what it gives me: .OA3xOriginalProductKey was unexpected at this time.

Thank you so much. Though (Get-WmiObject -query `select * from SoftwareLicensingService').OA3xOriginalProductKey did not work in the Command Prompt, which came out with '.OA3xOriginalProductKey was unexpected at this time.'
In the powershell window, the command works. I must have gone too long without activating windows.

From an elevated cmd.exe try;
slmgr /ipk xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx
slmgr /ato

So here's the problem with that, I don't have the product key, I bought the computer 3 years ago and don't know where I could find the key.

I didn't think I needed it when I reinstalled windows, and there is a product key automatically saved that the computer is trying to use to activate. All that is displayed is the last 5 characters, the previous 20 are hidden from me. Is there a way I can make that key visible?

I attached a screenshot of the activation window that shows my situation.

I just realized it gave me a different error code when I grabbed that screenshot, any info on that new code would be helpful.

The seller is Amazon, I've already looked through old records and documents and can't find the key. I'm hoping to avoid contacting amazon, but that's a rabbit hole I may have to go down if there's no other solution.

Then I'd look for the email you got from seller. You can also find all your amazon orders here. https://www.amazon.com/gp/css/order-history
If it were physical media then it would be on the packaging it came in.
