Migrate CA - Where are the settings of the Templates?

Hello,

when I migrate a standalone enterprise CA by uninstalling it and reinstalling it on a new server, are my custom templates and its custom settings still available after that? Of course I have backup of CA and of registry. When I export the templates with certutil, the text file does not contain any settings, only the list of the templates. But where are the settings of these templates saved? Or do I have reconfigure the settings after migration?

Thank you.

    Hi,

Based on my understanding , you want to migration a Enterprise CA to another CA in the same forest, right?(A standalone CA does not have certificate templates)
From what i researched, it is not needed to reconfigure the settings for the templates, but we do need to Reissue Certificate Templates according to the list of the templates you had exported.
Under Server Manager, navigate to Tools > Certification Authority
Right click on Certificate Templates Folder > New > Certificate Template to Reissue
From the certificate templates list click on the appropriate certificate template and click OK.

    Note:
If you are performing a CA migration between forests, you must manually re-create all certificate templates in the target Active Directory forest. The only way to create and manage certificate templates is by using the Certificate Templates snap-in.
