All of the sudden the shared folders on Windows server 2022 standard are being deleted. The antivirus is Sentinel1 and the backup is Datto. I appreciate your help. Jamshid

    Hello,

If the share folder was deleted, check the recycle bin. If it was cut and pasted, check the operation history of the authorized account.

If you have folder backup configuration, restore from backup is worth having a try.

HI, I appreciate your response. They are not in the Recycled bin of the server. The issue is that we have a template with empty folders. Once we copy this to a new folder the empty folders disappear.
this is a recent event. We have Snetinel1 for the AV and Datto for the backup. They both say it is not them.
    Thanks for your help. Jamshid

Which that less on information it's difficult to guess.

Windows OS itself don't delete folder, even not if they are empty.

Must have been a user with permissions or a kind of "clean-up" process.

I understand. But some searches say it is possible that Windows due to file structure might do deletion and recommend to run chkdsk /f/r. The only other culprit could be the AV. Sentinel1. But their support says no. It is not them.

    I appreciate your help.

    Thanks,

    Jamshid
