External Sub Project Links inside a Master Project

Question

Hi, Is there a way of linking an external sub project inside a master project so that when I receive an updated/ revised project from external suppliers the master project also updates or do I have to keep relinking the sub project every time, and reinsert it into the master project? Thank you
