PIM notification question

Hi, I'd like to understand how notifications are working with PIM. I understand you can set notifications quite detailed whether it is when you assign an eligible assignment, when the user activate the assignment and so on and these settings weren't touched and left as default for my specific use case, so my question is the following: Why and on which other basis are some (random) people notified when a user activates one eligible assignment ? Also personally, I got notified but only for some users not all of them, what the rational behind these notifications when not defined in the settings of the assignment? There are two reasons why I'm asking, some people should receive those notifications and don't (that could probably be done by adding their emails to the notification scheme, so not much of an issue) and other should NOT receive those notification because they don't care and it just spam them. More overall, I'm also very interested to understand how this all thing is working to be able to set it up correctly. Thanks a lot for your help. Best Regards, Nicko

    Hi @Nicko Glayre

Thank you for posting your query on Q&A.

I understand that you would like to know how notifications are working with PIM and why some random users are getting notified when a user activates one eligible assignment.

PIM notifications are emails that inform you and other participants about important events, such as when a role is assigned or activated, for more information you can refer Email notifications in PIM.

The other side If you’re receiving notifications for some users and not others it might be role settings that are defined at the role level, or they may be part of a group membership that has been designated to receive these alerts.

kindly review group compositions and ensuring they reflect the current requirements for notifications.

To avoid random or unwanted notifications, you should review and update your role settings and notification scheme regularly. You can also check the alerts page in PIM to see if there are any security issues or policy violations that need your attention.

I hope this information helps! please Feel free to ask any questions you may have.
