Teams New Work Client shows external and guest users differently than the web version

We are having MANY challenges with the New Teams client for work.

One major frustration is how external and guest users appear on chat.

In the screenshot below.

1. the Teams app shows the name of the Guest User and the External user shows "Unknown User"
2. The Teams webclient shows the opposite

These are the same person.

The Teams app is VERY inconsistent with when it shows the actual user name for external, even after a couple days...the name never appears. Sometimes it comes up, sometimes it does not. Guest Users almost always show properly on the client, but messages don't get delivered to the receiver.

Any one have any recommendations?

According to our research, there are a few possible solutions that you can try:

• Sign out of Teams and sign back in again.
• Update MS Teams to the latest version.
• Uninstall Teams from your device, then reinstall it.
• Clear the Teams cache from your device.

Otherwise, New Teams currently has a few features that aren't perfect, and as an alternative solution you can switch back to old Teams if you need to. Hope the above information is helpful for you!
