I am trying to install SQL2022-SSEI-Expr, but it keeps coming up with -2147467259. I have already made the attempt:

disable the firewall and make sure the SQL related port is on.
Delete the SQL related registry options from the registry. Below is the code for my error (one of the times), I have installed it about 30-40 times in total. The issue is that SQL Server does not start when Setup wants to run configuration. Do you have a file C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL16.SQLEXPRESS\MSSQL\LOG\ERRORLOG? If so, can you upload it? (You will need to rename to ERRORLOG.txt for the forum to accept it.)

I don't know why SQL server can't be installed properly. I've tried repairing and a few other things, but the repair doesn't work, he just tells me that my database engine is not installed correctly. But when I re-install it, I get the same problem. Other methods such as services.msc to manually open SQL SERVER but ERROR CODE 1053, I went to search and manually open SQL SERVERAgent but error code 1068. so I am more inclined to say that it was not installed correctly from the beginning. As you may guess, it is not supposed to be this way. I don't know if we will be able to figure this out.

But let's try this. Open a command-line window with Run as Administrator. Then do

cd \Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL16.SQLEXPRESS\MSSSQL\Binn

When you have arrived here, run this:

sqlservr -mSqlSetup -Q -qChinese_Taiwan_Stroke_CI_AS -T4022 -T4010 -T3659 -T3610 -T8015 -dC:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL16.SQLEXPRESS\MSSQL\Template Data\master.mdf -lC:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL16.SQLEXPRESS\MSSQL\Template Data\mastlog.ldf

Post a screenshot of what happens. (I expect this to fail, but I'm hoping that there is an error message that gives a clue.)

You are only doing something wrong, because I told you to. :--) I copied the comand line from the detail.txt file, but there are some dots suggesting that the command may be abbreviated.

Anyway, add -sSQLEXPRESS to the command line and try again.

To me it seems that everything went OK. (Which is a little unexpected.) If you have noe done so already, press CTEL/C to stop SQL Server. Then try to start SQL Server through the SQL Server Configuration Manager. ( I would not be surprised if we run into new problems here.)

Looking more at this, I realise that we may have upgraded the wrong database files for master.

Can you check in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL16.SQLEXPRESS\MSSQL\DATA and C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL16.SQLEXPRESS\MSSQL\Template Data what the dates are for the files? Can you post screenshots?

SSCM got this You cannot connect to the WMI provider. You do not have permission or cannot connect to the server. Please note that you can only use the SQL Server Configuration Manager to manage the server for SQL Server 2005 (onwards). Access denied. [0x80070005] and data/template data

OK, that error explains why Setup was not able to start SQL Server at all.

But unfortunately, we are now entirely outside my comforrt zone. WMI is a Windows thing, and what is going on I don't know. Looks like your machine is somehow messed up. If this is a company computer, it could be that your IT department has locked things down.

If you have experience of working with virtual machines, I think your best bet is to create a VM and install SQL Server on the VM.

I get some very confusing questions, such as trying to open a folder. I get told that I don't have permission, but I am an administrator account.

Opening certain parts of the SQL folder is required and every time. I've also noticed that if I look at it in terms of security, he tells me I need to have read access (even though I do). And I get a message that I can't see the owner(When I click on a change, I will see it. but anytime so a litte annoying), is this normal?

Yes, you typically have to go through UAC to use your admin rights to get into the SQL Server folders.

I cannot comment on the exact questions you get, as unfortunately, Chinese is not a language that I master.
