Virtual Studio 2019 does not install

Downloaded vs_community__664322203.1605028494
64 Bit Windows 10 machine - Dell Latitude 3540
I start the installer.
Bootstrapper starts, permission is requested to make changes to machine - answer yes.
Bootstrapper progress bar pops up - all green, then goes away - nothing else displayed.
Program not available in program list.
Just to test I tried installing "Visual Studio Code" version. That installed successfully and works.

Could you please download and run this collect.exe tool, go to %temp% folder and find the vslog.zip file, then upload (hide the private information) it to https://onedrive.live.com/ and share the link here? This will be useful for us to check further and help you better.

Hi @Ben Booth , thank you for sharing the log with me. From the log, I noticed that there was a windows update error(error code: 0x80070003), and you should try to resolve this windows update error firstly, please refer to this documentation: Resolution for Windows 10 and Windows Server 2012 R2, and follow the suggestions to fix the Windows update error, after that please disable anti-software and firewalls temporarily and try to uninstall VS and download the VS Bootstrapper program from here, then reinstall VS Installer > Reinstall VS.

Looks like Windows installer got corrupted when trying to install circuit simulation app a few months ago (PSpice). Here is a link to the DISM log and also what appeared in the command prompt window when I ran DISM

Hi @Ben Booth , thank you for your feedback. I suggest you try to update Windows 10 (install some newly released patch packages) from settings > Update & Security. If you get some Windows Update errors, please collect the related Windows Update errors logs ( C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\cbs.log ) and share it with me for further check. If Windows updates successfully, please kindly try to follow the steps I mentioned above to reinstall VS again.

Was still having problems with Windows update not completing, so I checked and repaired the disk image per guidance found at: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/windows/it-pro/windows-8.1-and-8/hh824869(v=win.10)

After that Windows installer began working correctly again and I was able to install VS Community and some other apps which I had been having issues with.

All is fixed now - thanks for your help pointing me in the right direction!
