Hi everybody. I have problem with my WSUS server. It is my downstream WSUS server. WSUS VM parameters 4 CPU and 16 GB RAM. Please help to resolve this problem.

The WSUS administration console has encountered an unexpected error. This may be a transient error; try restarting the administration console. If this error persists,

Try removing the persisted preferences for the console by deleting the wsus file under %appdata%\Microsoft\MMC.

    Hello Vusal,

Thank you for posting on Q&A.

I found the following description of this error:
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/mem/configmgr/wsus-console-crashes

Perhaps we could try to maintenance the WSUS. We could refer to the below link to maintenance the WSUS Server:
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/mem/configmgr/windows-server-update-services-best-practices

If there are updates about this issue, please keep us in touch.

    Regards,
    Rita

Are you performing the proper WSUS maintenance including but not limited to running the Server Cleanup Wizard (SCW), declining superseded updates, running the SQL Indexing script, etc.?

Are you performing them at the upstream? Have you tried restarting the downstream server? Have you run the SQL Indexing script? Both of those don't require WSUS to be working.

Is the WSUS server is configured with ssl?
From the log itself, seems as dns issue....

Also - is the WSUS is installed with windows IIS? is it ok? well configured?

Is the downstream server is brand new? is the post installation tasks were completed?
Some of these errors occur when the default web site is disabled within the installation process (might be relevant also after the installation is completed - did'nt happen for me, but...)
