Using Transport Rules to add a disclaimer to only the first email in a conversation

I have created a Transport Rule to add an HTML text disclaimer to the end of an outbound email but how do I stop it from adding it to ever email in an ongoing conversation between two people?

I have tried using the exception "If the subject or body matches these text patterns" and copied part or all of the disclaimer but that has not worked.

Could I add another rule to add a header and then set an exception in my disclaimer rule to check for the header?

Can anybody suggest a solution to this problem?

Many thanks

David

The exception is how you do it. Sure you constructing that correctly? If its still not working, can you post some screen shots of what the rule looks like with any personal info removed?

If you have additional conditions or exceptions that you want to add, select More options at the bottom of the page, which will show additional settings. For example, to add the exception that prevents multiple disclaimers being added in an email conversation, select Add exception and then select The subject or body > Subject or body matches these text patterns, and then specify the words or phrases in your disclaimer. Or, to put your disclaimer at the top of the email message instead of the bottom, in Do the following, select Apply a disclaimer to the message > prepend a disclaimer.

Thanks for all your replies. I am attaching several screenshots which show the entire rule. I am also attaching a screenshot of the HTML code for the disclaimer. I have altered the company name but the rest is the same.

    Most strange!

I changed the text in the Exception to use the same text @Joyce Shen - MSFT used and it resolved the problem. Thank you all for your assistance, very much appreciated.

    Kind regards

    David
