Issue with deep links in new Teams application

I am having trouble with deep links not working in the latest version of Teams. Unlike the previous version, I now have to close Teams and open the deep link in Chrome for it to work. As I use deep links frequently, I cannot do this every time. Can someone assist me with this problem? Thank you.

Here are a couple of examples of the deep link I have been using: https://teams.microsoft.com/l/chat/0/0?users=abcd1234&message=Hello%20there!&timestamp=1635647821000 https://teams.microsoft.com/l/chat/0/0?users=abcd1234&message=Hello%20there

I have tried using both types.

Could you please let us know how it behaves? Does it open the chat with the user, but the message is not prefilled??

Because we used this below deep link, and it opens the chat with specified user, but prefilled message doesn't show up.

Also having the same issue. The link and topic work but the message parameter is ignored.

Edit: It only seems to be broken on the Windows Teams desktop client (we are using the new teams). The parameter works on the Android app.

Having the same issue. Chat opens but does not populate the message. Have a case open with Microsoft.

Chats are opening but the message field is blank.

I do have the same concern the message is not working.

when I change the setting to the new window to open for a notification, I can see the deep linking is working but in main window it is not working, could you please tell us the ICM queue or ADO link to raise the request.

Have you tried using the Teams web version to check if the issue still exists?

According to our research, there are a few possible solutions that you can try:

Sign out of Teams and sign back in again.

Update MS Teams to the latest version.

Uninstall Teams from your device, then reinstall it.

Clear the Teams cache from your device.

If you’re using the Teams desktop or mobile app, try using the web version: https://teams.microsoft.com/.

Otherwise, New Teams currently has a few features that aren't perfect, and as an alternative solution you can switch back to old Teams if you need to. Hope the above information is helpful for you!
