Why does Microsoft-Azure-Application-Gateway/v2 create webpage '403 Forbidden' for access to a UK Government website that I have used for years and appears to block their daily information emails to me? I have access OK to a similar Government website and receive emails from that UK Government location OK. I have bought a new laptop to replace an old one which is starting to get unreliable and the new one is wanting me to update Outlook plus Azure has appeared from nowhere - I did not install it! The '403 Forbidden' does not appear on the old laptop and the emails appear on the original Outlook on my old laptop. I use Windows 10 - I do not wish to use Windows 11 If this is an indicator of issues that I am going to get with Azure it would appear that I must avoid it. Azure does not appear in my list of applications so HOW can I remove it?

    @Jeremy Flack ,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A Platform. Thank you for reaching out & I hope you are doing well.

    May I ask if you own this Azure Application gateway?

    • If not, you should work with the 3rd party that actually serve you the traffic via App gateway.
    • Because, only they will have access to the logs and configuration of the App gateway which is required for further troubleshooting.

    Also, I see you have mentioned

    1. you are accessing a webpage and receiving a 403
    2. you are facing some issue with email

    Azure App gateway is a server side proxy and will not be present in your client machine (laptop).

    For Outlook related issues - this is not related to the App gateway.

    • Please elaborate on where you see the 403 error message?
    • Is this when you access a 3rd party website and this error message appears?
    • Or somewhere else
    • Please share a screenshot of the error message with the complete window please.

    Cheers,

    Kapil
