Cannot Add Outlook Distribution or Group list addresses to Person or Group column we added to our library

Question

We created a basic library to contain documents and added a Person or Group field called Notification Email so we'd be able to identify who gets notified when changes are made. We are able to add individual email addresses - success! We are able to add Sharepoint group addresses - success! We are not able to add AD/Outlook groups or distribution lists. When we try, we get

Is there a Sharepoint admin page that allows the site to access AD/Outlook distros/groups?

Hi @Halliday, John (FTC),

Have you ever enabled "Allow selections of Groups" for the Person or Group column? Please firstly enable this setting for the column and let me know if it works for you.
