Hello Experts,
I was trying to use News Web part in SharePoint 2019. It doesn't show me option to select News Source, and when I click on +Add to create new news it creates a page in Pages library but that News is not displayed in this web part.
Is this a default behaviour in OnPrem? Is News webpart is just for a showcase and does nothing in SharePoint 2019 -OnPrem?

It's resolved. News appears only after publishing but in SP2019 we don't have option to select News Source, is there any plan to release the Online changes on OnPrem.

As you may know, currently this feature only exists in SharePoint Online. In fact News Source is used to select the scope of the news source rather than the news. For now we do not have heard about any timeline about similar features, and we can only wait for updates in the future.

Let me explain the conceptual difference between these two pages roughly. News post is a kind of modern page, and modern page also contains many other kinds of pages.
Per my understanding, first you should check whether you have published the news post, if the news post is just saved but not published, it is saved in Site Page library and will not appear in News Web Part until you published it. After publishing there may be a delay sometimes, just wait for a while.
However if you create a new page in the Site page library, it is likely to be a different kind of page instead of a news post, so of course it will not be displayed on News Web Parts. You can use the method in the link mentioned by sharatha to create a news post and make sure it is published.

yes, it's a default behavior. Not available in SharePoint server 2019.
