So I have an old Microsoft surface laptop from around 2014, very unreliable and prone to lag. I tried to factory reset since I don't need any of the documents on there, let the computer do its own thing for about an hour or so, came back, and saw the computer screen saying reset failed, undoing changes. When it was finished, I tried logging in, but it said User service failed the sigh-in, User profile cannot be loaded. I don't know if any of the files are corrupted. Is there a way to fix it without being able to log onto the computer?

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

Yes, there's possibility that your user profile is corrupted.

Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

1.Restart the Computer in Safe Mode.

2.Have you created a restore point? If so, you can try to do system restore and get back to health status.

Follow the on-screen instructions to restore your system to a previous state.

3.Try to login by another user account and see if it helps.

4.If above steps don't work, please considering reinstalling the windows operation system.

    Best Regards,
