Have any recent Window 10 updates for 1809 LTSC impacted the timing during the re-establishment of a BLE connection?

After installing the latest windows update - I am seeing intermittent connection failures using BLE.

NOTE: The broadcast interval of the other device changes from .5 secs to 2.9 secs after 5 minutes of inactivity.

Sequence of events:

  1. establish connection
  2. wait 5+ minutes
  3. attempt communication

Before the update this sequence would work fine and the already established connection would immediately resume.

After the update this sequence causes a connection error when attempting to communicate again after the wait time. Connection error is intermittent with about a 25% occurrence rate.

Any suggestions?

    Hello

It’s possible that the update may have affected the BLE connection, although I couldn’t find any specific reports of this issue related to the Windows 10 1809 LTSC update.

Here are a few suggestions that might help:

Run the Bluetooth Troubleshooter: Go to Settings > Update & security > Troubleshoot > Find and fix other problems. Now run the Bluetooth Troubleshooter. The troubleshooter will identify and try to fix the issues automatically. After doing this, wait for some time till the device reconnects and then the Bluetooth pairing should work as intended.

Update Bluetooth Driver: Check if there are any updates available for your Bluetooth driver. You can do this by going to Device Manager > Bluetooth and right-clicking on your Bluetooth adapter to check for updates.

Re-pair the Device: Remove the BLE device from your list of paired devices and then try re-pairing it. This can sometimes resolve connection issues.

Check for Windows Updates: Ensure that your system is up-to-date with the latest Windows updates. Microsoft is continually releasing updates to address issues and improve performance.

If these steps don’t resolve the issue, it might be worth reaching out to the manufacturer of your BLE device for further assistance.
