I have 2 hdmi ports on my board, why does one not work? I plug the hdmi in, and the monitor does not respond. The one that has a blue arrow does work, but the red arrow does not.

Hope these Steps help you to know the issue ......

Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:

Check the HDMI cable: Ensure that the HDMI cable you're using is in good condition and properly plugged into both the port on your board and the monitor. Sometimes cables can become damaged or loose, leading to connectivity issues.

Test the monitor and cable: If possible, try using the HDMI cable and monitor with a different device to see if they work correctly. This will help determine whether the issue lies with the cable, the monitor, or the HDMI port on your board.

Inspect the HDMI port: Take a close look at the HDMI port on your board to see if there are any visible signs of damage or debris inside the port that could be preventing a proper connection. Use compressed air to blow out any dust or debris that may be present.

Update drivers: Ensure that your graphics drivers are up to date. Sometimes outdated or incompatible drivers can cause issues with HDMI connectivity.

BIOS settings: Check your BIOS settings to ensure that the HDMI port is enabled and configured correctly. Sometimes changes in BIOS settings can affect the functionality of hardware ports.

Hardware issue: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it's possible that there's a hardware problem with the HDMI port itself. In this case, you may need to contact the manufacturer for further assistance or consider getting the board repaired or replaced if it's still under warranty.

By following these steps you should be able to diagnose and hopefully resolve the issue with the non-working HDMI port on your board.

    Hi Jason Trageser,

The HDMI ports pointed to by the blue arrow look to be on the graphics card while the one with the red arrow looks to be onboard. The onboard ports can sometimes be blocked by the manufacturer, so you'd better check with them. If not, it could be a hardware problem with the motherboard.

    Best Regards,

    Ian Xue
