Disable Access to DFS file share

Hello, everyone.

I am trying to move a client's file share from a local server file share to SharePoint. Once the migration is complete, I need to disable access to the old share (while still preserving the data) so that users don't try and go back to the old share. Ordinarily, I would simply "stop sharing" that folder, but this folder appears to be part of a DFS file share. It's partner will still be active for a while. I am not very familiar with DFS so don't want to do anything that will potentially mess up the data on either share. How can I just "stop" sharing the one without affecting the other?
