Looking for tutorials on migrating Oracle Exadata database to Azure PostgreSQL database. The or2pg tool will not work in this case and can't pay high BYOL for silk or striim.

Can anyone share information on tools and steps to migrate an Exadata DB to Azure PostgreSQL?

Thanks for the help.

Thank you for reaching out and for migrating your workload to Azure.

You can try Cortex by Splendid Data to do the conversion of a complex Oracle based system. Cortex is not perfect but provides the cleanest code of the various tools. Please let me know if you are interested as the license cost for Cortex may be covered by us if the opportunity is suitable.

I don't know anything else than Ora2Pg. But you can try exploring the below open sources too.

    • pgloader: An open-source data loading tool that can migrate data from various sources (including Oracle) to PostgreSQL. It supports schema conversion, data transformation, and parallel loading.
    • Talend: Talend provides an open-source data integration platform that supports Oracle-to-PostgreSQL migration. It offers a visual interface for designing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) workflows.
