How to get active Excel in Windows VM on Azure

I am able to spin-up a Windows xx VM environment on Azure but it will not allow me to use Excel.

This is for my own personal use and NOT associated with any enterprise. I have a valid Microsoft 365 subscription but when I use those logon credentials it does not allow Excel to function in the VM.

Am I required to purchase a new license to use Excel in the Azure Windows XX VM environment?

I am attempting to do some short-term work and need a larger environment that I currently own. I would hope I could just spin up a Window XX VM environment with a fully licensed Word, Excel, etc.... But that does not seem to exist.

Please help.

What is the error message you are getting?
    Is this a Windows 11?

Sometimes you need to apply all the updates before you try to activate some services.

    Hi @Gary

If the system and hardware on the VM meet the requirements of Microsoft 365 Apps, you can install and use it.

Which version of Microsoft 365 subscription do you have?

If there is any error message, please let us know.
