We have two separate forest A and B and each have couple of hyperv nodes

We have created a ton of vms on hyperv1 on domain A forest A now we wand to move them to hyperv2 which is located on forest B and domain B

Two way trust is available between forest A and B

Also I can establish ps-session bidirectionaly from hyperv1 to hyperv2

But when I try to move vms from forest A to forest B it will show the following errors 1000001813

Also modified trusted hosts of wsman but still no hope

Any idea or help

If you need to migrate those virtual machines live, you have to grant appropriate permissions for the host instances in your Active Directory on both sides since, as far as I remember, the migration is triggered using the host account, and it is not accepted by default when doing a cross-domain migration.

If you have the option to shut down the virtual machines during the migration process, I would recommend you do that and just export->copy->import them the regular way or use a free V2V converter https://www.starwindsoftware.com/starwind-v2v-converter to speed up that process or perform batch processing.

    Hi Shad,

Thanks for your post. Please make sure that you have done the following steps:

    1. On the Hyper-V host to be managed, open a Windows PowerShell session as Administrator.
    2. Create the necessary firewall rules for private network zones:

    Enable-PSRemoting

    1. To allow remote access on public zones, enable firewall rules for CredSSP and WinRM:

    Enable-WSManCredSSP -Role server

    Best Regards,
