System Center Service Manager Console Crashes when configuring AD Connector

We have a SCSM 2019 installed and are trying to create and configure an Active Directory connector.

When creating the connector, the console first throws an error which is very generic. Error message: An error was encountered while running the task.

Once we escape (close) this error message box, we are able to proceed with creating the rest of the connector settings.

The connector creates successfully however it never runs according to schedule, nor does it run and sync when triggered manually.

On attempt to view and/or edit the connection properties a different error message is thrown which ultimately crashes and closes the management console.

Error message: An error was encountered while running the Service Manager Console. The console will now close.

    Hi,

When configuring an Active Directory (AD) connector in System Center Service Manager (SCSM), encountering console crashes can be frustrating. Let’s troubleshoot this issue:

    To address this:

Check if there are any specific event logs or additional details related to this error.

Verify that the necessary permissions are granted for creating connectors.

Ensure that the SCSM service account has the required privileges to interact with Active Directory.

Consider restarting the SCSM services or the server itself.
