I have a free tria subscription and using default directory.

Suddenly I have started getting this error.

Have tried to clear the cache browser history etc.

Unable to switch directory because this is the only one I have.There is no other directory

I have the same issue. I've tried a new browser, incognito mode, and a completely new laptop. All give the same issue. I can still use the API to get to my models inside the studio, but cannot access the studio. Please can you fix this Microsoft?

I did notice that if I use my work account subscription I can get into the studio. The issue seems to be only when I'm trying to use my personal account - it seems to log in without a subscription associated.

Same issue here. I have just the Default Directory and it is the same ID as on Azure Portal. I have subscription that is under that directory. I have Resource groups on 2 different locations. I have A Document Intelligence and multi-service.

Still says the same error. "Welcome to Document Intelligence Studio You don't have an Azure subscription under your current directory (Default Directory)"

After verification, I found that the reason for this problem was that after the system was updated, the Directory used by Studio needed to be manually switched and submitted before it could be used. If you encounter this problem, make sure that the account you log in to the Studio system has the permission to manage multiple Directories, and then make a switch in the settings page to use it normally.

We only have one Default Directory and it is active. Still, it shows the error. Given the numerous feedbacks, it may be an internal error at Azure?

Hans, you need to make a new Directory. Then switch to that directory and then back to your Default Directory.

Thanks Kim! Are directories = tenants (=entra IDs)? I cannot find an FAQ to create one.

EDIT: Found it, but now it says "Customers must own a paid license to create Microsoft Entra Workforce tenant.". We have a pay-as-go-you plan. What a horrible dev experience :(

1.Go to azure portal and search for "Microsoft Entra ID".

2.Then select "Manage tenants".

3.click "create" and wait so it is created.

4.now you can go to documentintelligence

5.switch to the new directory and then switch back to the original directory.

I used the "Azure AD B2C". Also using a pay-as-go-you plan.

Hi Kim,

Thank you so much! This worked for me too. For anyone else who might be reading this - in the steps above you actually need to be IN the document intelligence studio, not just the resource. It does say it in the screenshot but worth pointing out - it took me a few mins to realise that.

I didn't realise we all had second jobs as Microsoft QA testers. This is really a poor show Microsoft - we are paying you money for this service.

It seems like the service is still broken, as soon as you access the studio link directly. After switching it off and to the directory again, it works until opened again from the link directly. Clearly an Azure bug that must have come lately, probably in their last release.

Poor developer experience, unfortunately. Can the dummy directory that needs to be created to augment a switch be deleted?
