Hi,
I'm looking for documentation on .Net Data Protection API Encryption Algorithm. I cam able to find secondary sources that it's using AES256 since Windows 7, and Microsoft source from 2010 that it used to use DES3. I'm looking for primary / Microsoft documentation.

This tool says it can identify the algorithm for DAPI data (either Triple-DES or AES256). I'm also unable to find any definitive MS documentation that says what's used, so I guess MS don't document it on purpose!
