VMware Horizon View VDI DEM Issue with New Teams

I have an issue with VMware DEM and the New Teams on a VDI desktop (instant clone). In DEM under personalization is a profile for saving settings for default apps. In this profile is a registry setting "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\UserSignedIn" for saving default apps for the user. It is saving something for the New teams that after the New Teams launches once and the user logs in to teams. Then the user logs out of the desktop which causes DEM to capture that registry info. Then DEM imports at user login with whatever info keeps the New Teams from launching again. Disabling this registry capture allows New Teams to launch without issue but then I don't get default apps captured for the user. VMware DEM support says it is a Microsoft problem. Can you help me with this?? Or are you going to say it is a VMware issue? I currently have the New Teams removed from the VDI desktop and tell users to use the web version or move to Zoom or Webex since they are not not a problem in VDI. Thanks

    Hi Alan,

We also use VMware DEM and have activated the "Default Applications" profile, but we can't find any issues when starting the new Teams. I also checked if the registry key you mentioned is present in the DEM profile, and it is not for us. It's not even on the desktop. Could it be that you are using Windows 11 and something fundamentally changed between 10 and 11 there?

We have the same problem. I have been banging my head against the wall for a while.

Other people seem to be ok.

    Have you found any solution.
