Backup and Restore reports the following error code 0x8100002F for a file that does not exist on the source disk. I searched both the source and backup disks and found nothing.

    Hello,

The error 0x8100002F usually occurs when Backup and Restore is trying to backup a file or a folder that’s no longer available or has been moved from its original location. This could also happen when the file or folder is included in the backup settings but it’s not available during the backup.

Here’s how you can address this issue:

Open Backup and Restore (by typing “Backup and Restore” into the start menu and clicking on it)

    Click on “Change settings”.

Select the drive where you are saving your backup and click “Next”.

Click on “Let me choose”, then click “Next”.

Look through the list of folders and files being backed up. If you see anything that you know you’ve deleted or moved, uncheck it.

Once you’ve gone through the entire list, click “Next” and then “Save settings and run backup”.

Meanwhile, please refer to the link below follow the steps to check the error.

Initially the folder was present on the source disk but the backup presented the error:

"Problem backing up file C:\Users\Alberto\Desktop\Folder. Error: (STATUS_WAIT_2 (0x80070002))"

Although deleted and checked that the folder was no longer present on both the source and backup disk, a new backup reports the same error, why?
