Sync Center file retrieve

I was working on a .txt file on a network drive that had lot of data.
It synched twice approx. in the past but started displaying in sync center as an offline/sync error file.
Even with the sync error, I opened the file multiple times on several days over 2 months and it worked fine every time.

When I tried to open it today it errored out and changed to an older version of the file a month back.
My file was about 140KB size but now it is 18kb.

What might have caused it :
Only thing different that i did was - I launched sync center manually on my PC to see something .
Thereafter as soon as i went back to this file's folder i saw it change from 140 to 18kb.
Is there any way to retrieve it?

Could i restore it by getting it from another folder where it might be storing it in the interim or from another process?
I really want this file back.

    Hello,

Is there any previous version available under "Previous Versions" tab?User's image

May I know the status of this file from sync center?

Do the file on both server and client side all show 18kb? If they are different, right-click on the sync group and choose "View sync conflicts" (or similar) to find and resolve any conflicts.

Or check if there is backup solution for the network drives, which could contain the latest version of your file.
