Hi,

We are experiencing difficulties with installing the latest Windows OS patch (KB5034765) as it fails to install on certain devices. How can we address this issue? It's important to note that reformatting the devices is not feasible, especially considering there are over 100 affected devices.

Please help us.

    Hello,

Can you install the March cumulative update (KB5035853)? Please try to download and install it manually in Microsoft Update Catalog.

If it installs, you don't need to consider downloading the February cumulative update, as the latest cumulative update will contain the previous cumulative update and improve on it.

    REF: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/march-12-2024-kb5035853-os-builds-22621-3296-and-22631-3296-a69ac07f-e893-4d16-bbe1-554b7d9dd39b

If you still can't download and install, please refer to the troubleshooting steps below:

    1. Can the cumulative updates in January be downloaded and installed normally? Please provide a screenshot of the update history page.
    2. Running the update troubleshooter. Select Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters > Windows Update > Run the troubleshooter.
    3. Performing a clean boot. This is a way of starting Windows with only the essential services and programs, which can help eliminate any software conflicts that might interfere with the update process. Please refer to this link: How to perform a clean boot in Windows - Microsoft Support
    4. Restarting the update services. You can do this by using the Services tool (services.msc) and stopping and starting the following services: Windows Update, Background Intelligent Transfer Service, and Cryptographic Services.
    5. Check if there is enough disk space available on your system drive. If not, free up some space and try the update again.

    Best Regards,

    Hania Lian
