Migrating my Orange email to Microsoft 365 Here are the steps I plan to perform: Uninstalling your Microsoft 365 Apps for Business currently installed on your different machines Installation of Microsoft 365 Business Standard on the 16 user stations (1 MS 365 user account = 1 user = 1 station) Configure Microsoft Apps for Business to connect to current mail ORANGE Back up the mailboxes (will be done just before the switchover) Switching messaging to office 365 (Insertion of MX, TXT and CNAME records) Concerning outgoing emails it will just be enough for me to send a press release to users on the other hand for emails coming from outside, will the steps that will be carried out allow me to not lose my emails coming from outside?

Once you have verified the domain and created the corresponding mailboxes with the same email addresses in Microsoft 365, you can update the MX record of your domain from Orange email to Microsoft 365.

It may take some time based on the TTL of your MX record, and based on the frequence that the public DNS server updates the cached information.

Once the MX record is updated, new incoming emails will start being routed to Microsoft 365 mailboxes.

so if the domain name is for exemple contoso.com, When I verified the domain and created Christ@contoso.com, I don't need to reinstall or do backup but I can automaticaly update the MX? (I specify that they have already installed a Microsoft 365 Apps for Business from a user account. i.e. one license allows installation on 5 different machines. the same account allows you to have office automation on 5 different machines, the objective being to use outlook for orange messaging)

I can automatically update the mx record without backup the mail?

MX record tells new incoming messages sent to your domain that they need to be sent to Microsoft 365.

By backup the mail if you mean you want to import the old emails from orange messaging into the new Microsoft 365 mailbox, you can import the emails via Outlook (it has nothing to do with MX record).

I know that but I just said that when I will update the mx record I will not lose my incoming email I don't need to reinstall the office 365 also I want to be sure

MX record may take some time to be updated.
Some emails may still be delivered to your orange mailbox if to the senders they are still seeing the old MX record.

I do not understand what do you mean by reinstalling the office 365, can you clarify?

You can install office 365 on a machine and use Outlook to connect to several mailboxes at the same time, by creating different Outlook profiles or adding additional accounts in one profile.

For exemple I installed Microsoft 365 Apps for Business on my machine with "contoso.onmicrosoft.com" and I bought a new tenant with "help.onmicrosoft.com" with the same subcription. I just must to disconnect the "contoso.onmicrosoft.com" account and connect "help.onmicrosoft.com" account or reinstall the office 365 from the portal of "help.onmicrosoft.com"
