Hi, please help. Details: I have used OneDrive for years, I am logged in and i can see my order history, paying regularly for my Microsoft 365basic (includes onedrive).

I also was getting emails from OneDrive with my 'memories' . The last memories email was Feb 10 (one month ago) with photos. Same email, same login info, no password changes..

History shows same services and payments made regularly.. Yesterday March 11, I logged in, and all my files (most of them were under 'Documents' folder were gone.)

I logged in from another browser, same user info, and of course the outcome is the same, same payment history, same disk usage, files are gone.

The Recycle Bin is empty. When I go to OneDrive > Manage storage it shows an empty drive!

This drive was maxed out, having100gb of data just 2 months ago. I did not delete any thing on the OneDrive website or on my mapped Onedrive on my computer.

Order history shows the same payment method, the same subscriptions, same devices, and regular automatic payments ... nothing looks off. No one else has access.

When I go to Restore your OneDrive it only shows 1 month, and for the 1 month period the drive is "empty" there is nothing to restore!

However, clearly the drive had files, and photos as of Feb 10 per the email that i got with memories. I also was logged into the OneDrive itself about 2-3 months ago and all the files were there.

Local drive info:

PC, Windows. I am using the same computer, no new computers/devices added.

OneDrive website shows devices and its just this computer (and an old one i never use..no other devices involved)

One mapped drive on the C drive... no other onedrive mapped drives.

No other mapped drives to onedrive exist..

Here's the main problem: Most the files in my OneDrive were on the OneDrive cloud, ie. not downloaded on the local drive.. the local drive had the folders but the folders were empty since these files were on the cloud and i only downloaded them locally if needed.

I did not delete any local files.

Possible cause 1, and more details:

The mapping / log in was 'off'.. ie. i did not log in to the onedrive local computer mapped drive for about 2-3 months ... A couple days ago, after I noticed the missing photos from the memories email, I logged in / activated the onedrive mapping again on the computer to look for some files and was surprised that it asked me to pick the local drive location.
I picked the same location that I know was always the one used, it said there were files in that location, I clicked on and it re-established the mapping. Except that all it did is start uploading files from my C to the cloud .. I paused it quick and logged into the OneDrive website and noticed that ALL the folders were new, created that day i created the mapping and all the previous files were gone and the disk usage was under 1gb (basically 0gb) of a 100gb available, when it was supposed to have been completely full from before

This is not an app or a mapping issue, it is a OneDrive cloud / account issue. I paid for well over a year but the files were deleted for me and there's no history showing deletion of files.

I am logging in with my only account, it's not an issue for the wrong account/user name/email and phone number password combination.

Q- Were these files some how deleted after Feb 10 but before March 11 of this year and if so how can I restore them when I cant find them in the recycle bin or Restore page?

Q- How can i find out what happened, how did my files get erased? how can they be restored?

Possible cause 2:

I believe (i am not entirely sure) I had more than 100gb of files on the OneDrive cloud, but my membership for the last 6 months allowed for 100gb only, would that cause the entire drive to get wiped?

To recap, my C drive mapping had just a few files on the local drive.. Almost all the files were on the OneDrive cloud. The OneDrive cloud was sending me emails with photo memories and the last email was last month Feb 10. I opened the email March 10 and noticed the memory photos were no longer loading...

I went in March 11 and the drive was empty with nothing in the recycle bin and the Restore page shows an empty drive (except for some files uploaded from the computer yesterday when i re-established the mapping).

I sent a help request from the OneDrive page and it said thank you for your feedback. I am needing of Tech support not feedback. Q- How can I escalate this to actual tech support?

Thanks!
