Teams on the web is sluggish and keeps going to away after 10 minutes.

This is only on the web version of Teams. I can't test on the desktop because they are using a Pi device so can't install Office on it for a variety of reasons. It is running a variant of Chrome.

As far as I know this is only one person, but most people here don't really care about their Teams status.

I would send them a message and it would take a minute or two before it shows up. Though I was remoted in, and one post I sent I didn't see it show up on their end, but it shows as read.

No matter what I change their settings to (manually set to active and changed duration to today) after about 10 minutes or so their status switches to Away. This just started a couple of days ago.

The webpage can be the active page and it will do it.

They have nothing in their calendar that is set to out of office.

The browser cache and temporary internet files have been purged.

    Hi @Jon Mercer

Have you tried using other browser to check if the issue still exists?

According to our research, there are a few possible solutions that you can try:

    1. Check Browser Settings: Ensure that the browser settings aren’t interfering with Teams. Some browsers have features that may cause inactivity, such as “Battery Saving” modes or “Background Tab Throttling”.
    2. Stay Active on the Teams Tab: Teams might change the status to “Away” if you switch to another tab. Try to keep the Teams tab active when possible.
    3. Clear the Teams cache from your device.
    4. If you’re using a VPN to access Teams, turn it off and back on.
    5. Try signing into Teams using a different browser and disabling your ad blocker(s).
