AVD and redirected home drive

Hi all,

Fairly new to AVD's and FSlogix profiles.

I have a tenant with multiple users, all in the same ou, it is a hybrid build.

They have mutliple AVDs setup where they login to work, most users have their drives mounted via fslogix

No mapped drives should be linked/mapped when they login.

One particular user having unresponsiveness issues appears to be due to his network profile loading on these AVDs.

What I noticed when opening CMD the default path for every other user is "C:\users\Username" meanwhile this user always appear to be at the home directory "H:" now when I disconnect his mapped drive, the default path changes to ~\appdata\roaming\powershell." which seems abnormal.

I was wondering if someone can shed some light on where I could look/check what could be causing the issue.

I have renamed his vhd directory and build a new profile but no success. I am assuming it is not a gpo as he is in the same OU as others who arent having this issue.

Appreciate your help.

Cheers,

Hex

    Hello Hex

    Thanks for sharing the details.

As you have this setting on the user profile page, the home drive will always be mapped, regardless of physical or virtual. A H-Drive for home folder shouldn't cause any problems on AVD or with FSlogix.

Did you configure via GPO e.g. folder redirection or profile redirection to the home drive in parallel to FSLogix?

In that case, you should re-work your GPO targeting to not do that on AVD session hosts.

    Hope that helps.
