Hi

We have got a linked service in place to a DB2 database through a self hosting integration runtime.

I wish to load data from DB2 to delta lake.

When I use the Copy activity in a pipeline I am able to use the linked service to DB2.

However when I wish to use the linked service to create a source dataset in a data flow I am not able

to use the linked service. It seems the DB2 symbol is grey and you cannot click 'Continue'.

Is this possible at all ?

Thanks

William

Hi @William ten Hoven Thank you for posting the question on this forum.

I have looked into the source options for Copy activity pipeline and data flow process and observed that they both support varied set of sources. The Copy activity pipeline currently offers a wire set of sources which can be found from the link Supported data stores and formats. As you may notice, DB2 is one of the supported sources for this pipeline.

Here is a reference to the Supported Source types for the data flow transformation. Notice that DB2 is not one of the supported sources for the data flow. To include data from other sources in your data flow, use would have to use the Copy Activity to load that data into one of the supported staging areas.

There is an existing product feature request on the Data Factory ideas forum requesting this feature. I have upvoted the idea and sharing the link here for easy access to the community members looking for this feature - DB2 as sink data store I request you to upvote this feedback idea request so that it gets traction with the Product team.

Hope this provides clarification on the issue. Please let us know if you need any additional assistance on this.
