Unable to impement OneDrive File Picker v8 due to bug

There is an open Github issue that shows that the v8 version of the OneDrive File Picker is not functioning correctly. It is not able to establish communication between the dialog that opens up and the parent context due to a runtime bug. Is there a way around this issue? Is there somebody from the OneDrive team that can investigate this?
