Behavior of PCIe standard driver for WIN11 system

Hi!

Hello, I have observed through the protocol analyzer that Nvidia's graphics card will actively reduce the PCIe speed to Gen1 when the data volume is small, and increase to Gen4 when the data volume is large.

My question:

  1. If my SSD also initiates a speed change, how will the host driver react? Does the RC driver limit the behavior of EP? (SSD has been used as the system disk and the active change speed test has been conducted for 72H, without any problem, and the change speed is launched every 100ms, but it is not clear what other hidden problems will exist)
  2. If the EP initiates a speed change, but the speed change fails, how does the RC driver react? Can you kick the SSD? Or does it launch a hot reset?
  3. If EP initiates a change link width initiative, will RC respond? What does the RC driver do?
  4. In what cases does the RC driver initiate a hot reset?
  5. In which cases does the RC driver initiate link disable?

Best Regardes,
