I want to be able to export all entries (content) of a MS Lists multi-line appended column.

In our SharePoint List workflow we need to be able to easily report the "what happened" type history of records/rows. The field/column that contains this history is a multi-line, append to existing text type.

Scenario: report (in Excel format) to a client the action (what was done, when) history of multiple rows/records.

I understand this is currently not possible.

  • Is there a plan to implement a solution?
  • Is there a workaround?

Thanks for any tips/advice you can give.

Caroll

    Hi @Caroll Mitchell,

Based on your problem description, I tried to implement your problem using flows or calculated formula columns, but neither of them solved your problem.

It doesn't make sense for MS List columns to record historical version values to multiple lines of text. Because we can check the historical version to know how the content has changed and how it was changed.

Please accept my sincerely apologize for any in convenience this may cause. Thank you for your kind understanding.
