Authenticator app code loop

Question

When I try to log into my email it opens the authenticator app and displays a code. After which there is nowhere to enter the code given. When I click on cannot use authenticator app the only options it gives me is to use the authenticator app. It then gives the 2 digit code again and just goes on in a loop. When I try the 6 digit code option there is nowhere to find this code as such I am now locked out of my email. Please help
