I have done file level restore of an excel file in my Azure VM through VM backup.

We restored the excel sheet from the restore point. After restoration, when I check the restored excel sheet, it does not show what changes where made on the file on or before the backup date, or version history. is this normal?

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Yes, When you restore a file from a backup point, you are essentially retrieving the file as it existed at the time the backup was taken.
