'mail' attribute excluded from sync to Azure, but several accounts are still synchronized with this attrbite

When we synchronize our on-premise AD accounts to Azure, we had 1300 accounts with Duplicate Attribute error. Then I excluded 'mail' attribute from synchronization and now 240 accounts have still Duplicate Attribute error with 'mail' attribute synchronized. Why is the 'mail' still synchronized for these accounts even it's excluded in Azure AD Connect?

    Hi @Marcel Sic

    If you are using Entra connect server, In the metaverse You can identify which rules is responsible of mail synchronization.

    From my point of view , the best approach is to avoid duplicate mail address from active directory and keep mail attribute synced
