Can't setup Authenticator on new phone

Hi,

I've recently got a new phone and when MS requests "We've sent a notification to your mobile device. Please open the Microsoft Authenticator app to respond." I don't receive any notifications.

I've looked at many forums and the answer was to:
" 1. Go to Security & Privacy page > choose Additional security verification > Update my phone numbers used for account security.
2. After that it will open a new window. You will see your Phone is listed and you can choose Delete.
3. Choose Set up Authenticator app and it will open a pop-up box with QR code so that you can configure the app on your new device."

The issue is when I try to go to additional security verifications it again shows the message "We've sent a notification to your mobile device. Please open the Microsoft Authenticator app to respond." . So I can't go into those settings to try to restart my account on my phone.

Any workarounds around this???

The issue is when I click to go to the Additional security verification page (image attached) the message appears "We've sent a notification to your mobile device. Please open the Microsoft Authenticator app to respond.". So I'm not able to get to the page where I can delete my old device. There is also no option of me bypassing it..

Any update on this? I know this is an old post, but I am having the same issue - new phone, old phone not available, and it keeps saying it sent the code to my mobile device.

I have been through all of the additional security verification options and it does the same thing - sends it to my old phone - which doesn't exist for me anymore.

Thanks in advance for any help or ideas!!!

My sister is also having the same issue as this. Upgraded to a new phone and traded in her old one for it. Now she's trying to log into her school email, but it won't let her because apparently, she declined it and is now wanting the code that was supposedly sent to her old phone. For me, I don't remember how I did it, but it gives me the option of texting or calling my phone as an alternative, but for her, it only asks for code or approval from the app itself. Any help on how to resolve this issue would be deeply appreciated. She has also contacted support for this app and is waiting on their reply, so if I have any updates, I will share them as soon as they respond.

I am having the same issue. Exact same scenario as "JessicaGrewal-8318". Does anyone happen to have an update on how to fix it?
