I created a new free Azure account in Oct 2023 after being laid off.

However as I got occupied with job search, I never used it.

Due to inactivity, the account got auto deleted in Dec 2023.

Now I am trying for Azure DevOps certification.

But system is not allowing me to have a free account - asking for pay-as-you-go subscription.

How can I have a free account to try the exercises please?

Any input will be very helpful.

Thank you.

Gautam De

If you previously had a free Azure account that got auto-deleted due to inactivity, you might not be eligible for another free account using the same credentials or email address. However, there are a few steps you can take to try to obtain a free Azure account for your Azure DevOps certification exercises:

Use a Different Email Address: Since your previous account might be associated with your email address, try signing up for a new Azure account using a different email address.

Contact Azure Support: Reach out to Azure support and explain your situation. They might be able to assist you in setting up a new free account or provide alternative solutions.

Utilize Azure for Students: If you are a student, you might be eligible for the Azure for Students program, which provides free Azure credits. Check if you meet the eligibility criteria and sign up through the Azure for Students portal.

Use Azure DevOps Services Free Tier: Azure DevOps Services offers a free tier with certain limitations. You can sign up for Azure DevOps Services using your Microsoft account and utilize the free tier for your exercises.

Explore Azure DevOps Labs: Azure DevOps Labs offer guided tutorials and exercises that you can follow without needing a full Azure subscription. This can be a great way to learn and practice Azure DevOps concepts without needing a subscription.

By trying these options, you should be able to find a solution that allows you to proceed with your Azure DevOps certification exercises without needing to pay for a subscription upfront.

    Thanks Navanath.

I switched to pay-as-you-go as system says "pay for what you use beyond your free amounts.".

All I need is to practice for DevOps certification.

    Set up budget alert also.
