Deleting a failover relationship that has DHCP scopes associated with it will remove those scopes from the partner DHCP server. The scopes will remain on the DHCP server where the failover relationship was deleted.

Hi all,
We have 2 windows 2019 DHCP servers which are configured to use hot standby mode. Now, we need to migrate to windows 2022 servers. If we remove the failover relationship between two DHCP servers, will DHCP data still reside on active and passive servers?
Thank you!

Hello,
As Marcin mentioned, the DHCP scopes that were part of the failover relationship will remain on both the servers. But they will now operate independently. Each server will manage its own scope without synchronizing changes with the former partner server. Any new DHCP leases granted by either server will not be shared with the other server.
