Recent documents suddenly not showing up in Excel

Suddenly I can't find my recent documents on Excel when I open it.

Also, when I do open an Excel work sheet, it doesn't appear on the recent worksheet list when I reopen it.

PLEASE, no advice which is try this, that, and the next thing, because you really don't know, but you want to give me a laudry list of things to do.

Also, no links to track which if followed don't actually solve the problem.

I am talking to the "independent" whatever that throw up junk in response to questions.

    Hi,

    Did this problem only appear in Excel? How about other Office applications?

    I suggest you go to File- Options- Advanced- Display- check if the number is set to 0, change to 50:
