Prerequisites for adding a Windows 2022 domain controller to an existing 2016 domain

What are the prerequisites that need to be met in order to add an additional domain controller running Windows 2022 to an existing Windows 2016 domain?

Before promote new domain controller running on Windows 2019 or Windows 2022 , the domain functional level must be Windows 2008 R2 at least and the system replication for sysvol folder is DFS-R.

Before promote or demote a domain controller , you should may some health check about replication and active directory. Below some commands should help you to identify replication and AD error:

dcdiag
repadmin /showrepl
