You mentioned that users are encountering a “You don’t have access” error. This could be due to a couple of reasons:
- Too Many Items: If a folder, library, or list contains more than 100,000 items, you cannot break permission inheritance or reinherit permissions on the entire container. However, you can still break inheritance on individual items within that container, up to the maximum number of unique permissions (which is 50,000, but the recommended limit is 5,000).
- Unique Permissions Limit: If you have too many uniquely permitted items (files or folders) within a list or library, it can cause issues. The supported limit of unique permissions for items in a list or library is 50,000.
