i got the error "The subscription 60033f3b-8c47-4b82-bfce-0185001ca08b is not eligible to create an App Service Domain." when i create app service domain. please help me

What is the error you get?

You should be able to register for an Azure account, input your Credit card etc for a new Azure Subcription under Pay as You Go.

I am in the same boat, and lots of confusing info, now troubleshooting on why I cannot own a domain name. I am spending hours to do this, and with godaddy, I am about to do it in 5 minutes, what did MS did on documenting basic things, this is not a rocket science, below is where I finally got to, but still without success while I am on PAYG and this is completely new name, and there is active credit card on payment:

If you're unable to buy an App Service domain in the Azure portal:

There's no credit card (payment method) for the Azure subscription, or there are payment method limitations. Review and resolve payment method issues in the Azure portal.

You're not the subscription owner, so you don't have permission to purchase a domain. You can assign the Owner role to your account, or contact the subscription administrator to get permission to purchase a domain.

Your Azure subscription type doesn't support the purchase of an Azure App Service domain. You can upgrade your Azure subscription to another type, such as Pay-As-You-Go.

The domain has expired. For more information, see Renew the domain.

Anyone having issues here, please go to godadday and do it in under 10 minutes, this is a big mess MS support created just to get a new domain name. What happened to understanding user experience, you guys made it rocket science.

Are you using a Free Trial subscription - if so see below?

"Some subscriptions types would be required to have sufficient history on Azure prior to creating an App Service Domain. Free trial and credit based subscriptions are not eligible to create an App Service Domain."

Is this a new requirement this year(2024) that "Free trial and credit based subscriptions are not eligible to create an App Service Domain"? I have the "Visual Studio Enterprise Subscription", which has $150 credits every month. Creating App Domain seem to be supported last year using this subscription.

Not sure, but I can see the document was updated to include the limitations at the beginning of March, so I am 'guessing' that this is indeed a new restriction.

Hi Luke,

I am also stuck here. I am new in Azure cloud. I have created account on Azure portal, and I believe, one can create only 'free' account initially. Then I upgraded the subscription to 'Pay-as-you-go'. It also displays this message - "Successfully upgraded to Pay as you go. Your free credit is still available until the end of the free trial billing cycle. Usage over your free credit will be applied to your payment method. "

When I tried to create app domain, it gives "The subscription XXXX is not eligible to create an App Service Domain."

I have gone through some of the support pages and found about the pre-request of payment history. Now, I don't know how to create any payment history as I am still using most of the free services as the account life is still within 30 days (only 3 days today). Do I need to wait for 30 days to be passed, and spend some $$ to create payment history? - if yes, then this is very stupid logic whoever has proposed this flow.
