Dear Host,

I have searched exhaustively for an answer to the question of: "what does the XP Level mean and what does it indicate?" All the answers from the moderators in all due respect miss what I believe the question of the same nature is being missed or non-responsive in the accepted answer sections. Here are just a few answers rendered by the moderators of this forum:

  1. MS Learn modules are categorized based on 3 levels of users - Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced
  2. Response from user: The question is not about the 3 levels / beginner, intermediate /advanced. The question is about XP levels. Is the scale from 0 to 10 ?
  3. Additional User response: Normally, users can earn XP (Experience Points) on Microsoft Learn by completing modules, courses, and other learning activities. These XP are a way to track your progress and achievements on the platform.
I see that there are two senses of the term level in MS Learn, so lets referred to course level here as sense 1 and ![User's image](/api/attachments/9bc1cbb4-7abe-4284-8794-c922a7a0e6df?platform=QnA)

XP Level as sense #2 to eliminate confusion.

I get that points increase with module, activity, task, course completion, however, I need a more profound articulated answer as to what does the point indicate? Does Level 5 or 10 whether a beginner to advanced level is chosen, that you within this or that particular subject matter that you (say you are a beginner) at Level 3 are a novice beginner or Level 10 that you are a Advanced beginner? This is what I need to understand and I assume others as well. Also, when you complete that particular course level, does MS promote you to intermediate or do you have to choose intermediate. These are the points that lack articulation because as for now, just indicating XP Level 5 (experience) in all due respect isn't cutting it! Thanks in advance for answering this questions and please, please, please be more articulate in your clarification.

    Hello @No One ,

The XP points are used as a way to track progress and Levels indicate the extensive/continuous completion of the learning material that is being added/improved/enhanced on the platform. This concept helps people to compare their progress and to push themselves.

    Hope this clarifies your query.
