I am planning a side by side migration of three existing SCOM 2019 UR5 environments. Previously I would just export "our MPs and overrides) import into new SCOM environment, and not worry about existing databases and customer reports. However this time, moving from 2019 UR5 to 2022 UR2, the databases are larger and "our" MPs/overrides/custom monitors, notifications and alerts are quite a few and I do not want to lose anything!
Would I:
Build the Windows Server 2022 servers - 2 mgmt servers, 1 SSRS server, 1 SQL DB server, then import a copy of the SCOM 2019/SQL 2019 DBs (Operations mgr, DW and reporting) to the SQL 2022 DB server, then install SCOM 2022 UR2 as normal and connect to those DB's?
What would I need to edit/change to make this work?
I am familiar with adding mgmt groups to existing monitored windows servers so that they can be dual homed for the migration. That is except for our Linux Redhat environment. Is it possible to dual home Linux Redhat servers? v7.x and 8.x?
Looking for some advise.
Thanks,
Tony
