We are using the Turn Relay for the Live chat video avatar. The turn relay used for this seems to be retiring soon. What are the alternatives and how will we be able to continue the development of using the live chat video avatar without the turn relay.

Customer is using Real time speech synthesis and checking for Turn relay alternatives in Text to speech avatar.

We have recommended this to customer "In real-time speech synthesis for text-to-speech avatar, there is a mention of using the WebRTC protocol for outputting the avatar video stream. The WebRTC protocol relies on an ICE server for network relay. Azure provides Communication Services, which can serve as a network relay function. However, it is also mentioned that you can choose to use your own ICE server. This indicates that there are alternatives to using the Azure Communication Services for network relay in real-time speech synthesis for text-to-speech avatar."

Is there any alternative solution other than this.

Thank you.

    Hi @Mallu Swetha (MINDTREE LIMITED),

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum!

I understand that the customer is using real-time speech synthesis for text-to-speech avatar and is looking for alternatives to the Turn Relay.

After 31 March 2024, your TURN issued tokens will no longer be supported.  Please transition to a third-party service before this date to avoid service disruption. In addition to using the WebRTC protocol with an ICE server for network relay, there are other alternatives that the customer can consider. One such alternative is to use a third-party TURN server for network relay. There are several third-party TURN servers, one such third-party TURN server is Coturn. Coturn is an open-source TURN server that can be used for network relay in WebRTC applications. See: Coturn TURN server.

Hope this helps. Do let us know if you any further queries.
